'Speciesism' is the idea that being human is a good enough reason for human animals to have greater moral rights than non-human animals. ...a prejudice or bias in favour of the interests of members of one's own species and against those of members of other species.

Having read with interest the post on killing 'rescue' dogs... and other non human animals I presume? Would you watch this documentary?

HereIam, I was referring to Lisa!
Sorry, but it wasn't very clear !
a) I never said you didn't.

b) It's alleged until proof is given that's it's common practice in the industries and not isolated incidents from those who don't care for the rules. If you have the proof, then ok, show your MP and get it changed instead of using it as a stick on the folk who consume normal diet here.
Divegirl, if there are flies buzzing around your kitchen do you kill
them? How about mosquitos? Do you let them bite you or do you swat them?
Hereiam had a good question... //So would you have Lisa starve because insects and small animals get caught up in a combine harvester ? //

It seems for most of us the answer would be no... as we are basically putting human life first, but I would love to see divegirl's answer to that.

Sadly for you Naomi, I free any animal I can [my son can vouch for the madness that is me leaving one morsel of food out for a fly].

And... never been fast enough to catch a mozzie yet, though they do appear to love me lol

I do however aim to keep my companion animals free from parasites. I do this using garlic, diatomous [sp] earth and house salt :) I do have to give chemical treatment to my hound as he suffers flea allergies.... but then I never claimed to be perfect ;)

Sadly for me? Why?
