I've decided that between 8pm and 9pm on Monday evening I'm going to be gender-fluid and identify as a woman. As we're told this is a real thing, and further, we're told to accept it and respect a person's decision, I trust my local swimming baths will be accommodating and respect my right to identify as a woman for the hour I'm there. My reason for choosing to...

Your guess is as good as mine. I don't know any 'non gender specific' people to ask.
I haven't watched this yet, will do now - let's see.

Spath says he is on the Andy Murray thread.
But he also refers to his girlfriend at times.
Perhaps it will pop over and explain.

The only problem I have with non-gender specific terms is that they sound rude. But if "it" is what it wants, who am I to disagree.
It means not differentiating between masculine and feminine... which I am all for. I don't see why either sex should be confined by stereotypes. Each to their own. What spath meant by its is anyone's guess.

Just watched the link, seemed a bit weird.
I found the people in the link refreshingly honest on each of their personal levels.
Hmmm, my sound wont work on that vid - looks quite interesting.
I know a few people who are non gender specific.

One is a person born male who dresses female, although they have no intention of having a sex change, they just live as someone called Suzi-Dan Jones. Not the real name.

Another is Alex dressed as male some days and then female for months on end, then male again. alex has changed names too more times than I can remember.

And finally I know Sam, who's birth gender I genuinely dont know nor does it matter to any of us, it just seems very natural for Sam to be gender neutral.

It does feel rude to call a non-binary person ‘it’. I think many prefer ‘they’, which feels and sounds really awkward and clunky to me.
However, spath referred to Andy Murray’s new baby as ‘it’ so maybe that’s the pronoun he/it/they prefer. I’m not being facetious here. I genuinely don’t know what Spath prefers.

But they are specific, take all the clothes off and, hey ho, there you go.
If I know how someone prefers to be referred to, I'm happy with that in conversation.
It's rather sad when minds don't work properly. Still, as long as they're happy. They aren't obliged to fit the official image of their sex. People's personalities can have quite a range.
Asking someone how they prefer to be addressed can be sensitive and might involve outing them. Just use They, Them, Their, or their name. The Baby is better than IT.
//How do those that see themselves as above see themselves//

No idea, but I see them as self-obsessed attention seekers. Potty.
If someone is non gender specific, what do they call themselves in relation to their mother, sister, brother, child, etc?
In French there is no such word as it. Everything is either il or elle.
I'm sure each person deals with that in their own way, doubt there's a rule book.
It? Thing? Hope their surname isn't Addams.
