When Jesus Christ was on earth, he gave his listeners a lesson in observing signs and acting accordingly. He was talking about something of far-reaching importance. The Bible reports: “The Pharisees and Sadducees approached him and, to tempt him, they asked him to display to them a sign from heaven. In reply he said to them: ‘When evening falls you are accustomed to say, “It will be fair weather, for the sky is fire-red”; and at morning, “It will be wintry, rainy weather today, for the sky is fire-red, but gloomy-looking.” You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but the signs of the times you cannot interpret.’”—Matthew 16:1-3

Good life - you consider Jesus to be an angel and not the Son of God. Yes?
o god

Good life - do you consider Jesus to be an angel and not the Son of God?

never mind GL - there are some unitarians who dont believe Jesus was the son of God and still maintain they are christians

that was the correct way to ask a question yes?

Theland,,,
//God said, all those years ago, that this highly unlikely event would happen, and it did//

He also said that Nebuchadnezzar would destroy Tyre (He didnt)
Nebuchadnezzar will conquer Egypt (He didnt)
The Nile will dry up (It didnt)
Egyptians will speak the language of Canaan (They didnt)

All unlikely events. Events that didnt happen as prophesied.
According to you, on an earlier post, the 'prophets' that made these predictions should be put to death. Were they? And if not, why not?

Just in case you missed it? :-)
Goodlife, your story of Job is utterly disingenuous. Tell the truth. God had a bet - and at Job’s expense, God's arrogance paid off. One of the most disgracefully dissolute stories it has ever been my misfortune to happen upon. Where are your morals?

Theland, yes Goodlife does consider Jesus to have been an angel - the Archangel Michael to be precise - and you believe Jesus to have been the son of God - whilst I think he was someone quite different and not magical at all - but then according to you two I’m doomed anyway - along with the majority of people on this planet so my thoughts are irrelevant. You two waste your lives dwelling on death. Religion certainly brings joy to the world. I really wouldn't want to spend five minutes with either of you. Eternity? Forget it. I'm happy to be doomed.
Naomi - on the contrary I do not consider my life wasted and certainly don't dwell on death.
Do all of your friends share your atheism?
That, if so, I find astonishing.
Nailit - in between trying to set traps, try answering a few questions yourself.
Whose philosophy do you follow? Dawkins maybe?
Do you reject absolutes and accept relativism?
Do you accept / reject evolution, abiogenesis and a universe from nothing?
Yesterday in a park in Bolton, a 7 year old girl was stabbed to death by a strange woman in front of her parents. I am shocked at this and call it pure evil.
Dawkins asserts there is no good or evil, we just dance to our DNA.
What do you think?
Peter Pedant, you approve of my grammar, yes, no, possibly, other?
Theland you’ve asked Nailit which philosophy he follows but why do you assume he follows a philosophy? Do you find it impossible to contemplate life without the leadership of others who in reality can no more offer answers to the 'big questions' than you or anyone else. I think Nailit is intellectually astute enough to be his own man.

//Do all of your friends share your atheism?
That, if so, I find astonishing.//

See above and be astonished.
Naomi - my mistake.
I naturally but realise now mistakenly thought that the majority of people contemplated the origins, reasons and future of our existence. Nailit being one of them.
I therefore apologise to all Nihilists.
Peter Pedant - I have answered with sufficient lucidity. Yes?
Don't be rude, Theland. I've no doubt most people do contemplate 'the big questions'. The rational, however, don't claim to have reached definitive conclusions to currently unanswerable questions. They know that is impossible.
Hello goodlife - long time no see. I can't find anything wrong with the OP & the name of God isn't mentioned at all, it's the atheists who find such a need to bring the subject up at any opportunity, I wonder often why that is?

By the way, goodlife, Does 'confession' feature in the JW church?
Rudeness unintentional, and not realised, but nevertheless if I have caused offence I most certainly apologise.
Peter Pedant - How am I doing? O K yes?
Theland, In that case, perhaps next time you'll think to check the meaning of words you don't understand before you decide to use them.
Khandro, //I wonder often why that is? //

You've been told often enough. Why are you still wondering?
n. //Why are you still wondering?//

I never cease to wonder why atheists seem so God-obsessed.
What word caused offence and why?
They all seemed appropriate to me.
But again sorry for causing offence.
Khandro, I'm not God obsessed, I'm interested in the reasons why people believe something that can not and can never be proved.
Theland, //What word caused offence and why?//

///Nihilist: A person who believes that life is meaningless and rejects all religious and moral principles. (OED).///

Charming! Did you really need to ask?
