Theland, you are a decent human being.
A decent human being trying to put a round peg into a square hole with the religion stuff.

Nailit - Please please please tell me why you as a devout atheist who believes God Jesus and the bible are all rubbish, spend so much time and energy criticising it all?
It would be just as rewarding to criticise the YellowPages .
Also, your advice please.
Should I stop asking these questions?
They seem to arouse such anger.

Thought you were weary and needed a rest?
Or are you turning the conversation away from questions that challenge you again?
Question Author
I am weary.
I am not going to read through 6 pages of postings so my point has probably been made by someone else. I am of the objective morality camp. There is absolute not relative truth, and absolute not relative morality.
For me as a Christian, God is the source of morality. Only God is good.
If you attempt to create morality without reference to God, you have no fixed point to anchor your ideas. Instead you just have a shifting sand of constantly changing values.
If society today believes paedophilia is morally wrong. What if in 50 years time, 95% of the population think it is fine. Does that make it morally right?
But still posting on AB???
To Theland ^^

Prefer my own morality that doesnt involve genocide TBH.

Fiveleaves. Do you know what paedophilia means? Do you know that many early christians believed that sexual activity between men and women was evil?
Fiveleaves, //For me as a Christian, God is the source of morality. Only God is good./

Naomi , when you put it in such stark terms it of course makes no sense.
But of course this is a non question if asked by an atheist who considers the bible to be pure myth.
