Given that you can tell the time from your phone, I pad, cooker, fridge and TV etc do you really need one, if so why?

It fascinates me that Theland thinks that some of us take our cookers and fridges out with us. TTT takes a kettle but they're not inconveniently big.

6 y o on train
hey grandad look at them
those two old men are wearing watches!

moi - - for it was I - do you want to have a look
Grandad: o yeah OK I can see why you wear this ....
Fashion. I have several.
Always, I'd be lost without mine
Only when I go out. I use clocks at home and never use my phone for the time when I'm out because I rarely take it out unless I'm alone.

Even more puzzling to me are expensive watches :×}

Don't feel dressed without one.
I grew up in a rural area where you couldn't hear a church clock let alone see one, if you wanted to be home in time for meals a watch was the only option.
Not for years since I broke my wrists and they became uncomfortable to wear.

Have a couple of fob watches but no real need to wear them.
I don't feel dressed without my watch on.
I only wear mine when boiling eggs as I can count in seconds.
Yes. I wear one for convenience.
Always, feel something is missing without one
You wouldn’t like my Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore then, Theland.

I used to until I got a fitbit. I seem to remember wearing both for a short while, until the strap on my favourite watch broke.
Nor my husbands Longines TL
As soon as I get home after going out, I take watch, bracelet, rings, and any footwear, including socks off. So all through lockdown I am unadorned!
I wear an Apple Watch
No, not since I retired 25 years ago.
And just for PP, I confirm everything else stays on!!
Nor my diamond encrusted gold Citizen Ecodrive :-) I wear it all the time and regularly look at it to check the time when I'm out of the house. The last thing I use my phone for is to check the time.
