I’m fed up with people knocking this great country of ours so in the spirit of patriotism I reckon it’s time to fly the flag on all public buildings, schools included, and anywhere else people would like to fly it. I’m searching for a flag pole and someone to install it in my garden as I type. What say you?
I didn't "have a go". You're reading things that aren't there. On the other hand, you should probably stop calling me, or for that matter anybody else on this site, an "idiot.
Jackdaw: I'll spell it out. I said in my original note that I was not sure of the name of the website. Then I get abuse for getting the name of the website wrong. Do you understand?
I mean, there's nothing in my first post, or anything afterwards, that is remotely abusive or intended to be. I'd encourage you to read it again in the morning, in the spirit of helpfulness intended, before going any further down this rabbit-hole.
You may see your Black Country flag flying less often now. Making the flying of the Union Jack compulsory on public buildings means that regional and other flags will be pushed out.
Perhaps this will encourage people to erect poles in their garden to fly BLM flags, Momentum flags, gay flags, St. Piran flags, Pakistani flags or KuKluxKlan flags.
Though I like the Union Jack flag, I reckon seeing it 365 days a year flying on Government buildings and naomi’s house will lessen its impact and make it everyday and not special.
It is currently flown on 20 designated days throughout the year, and that is great.
This is one of those occasions when the Government should follow the advice,’If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’.
