After being in a sweltering ward for 3 days and nights, (all patients and even nurses agreed it was way too hot), and with only two fans in the ward which obviously couldn’t reach everyone, would they be allowed to accept it if I bought another one and donated it to the ward I was on?? Or would they not be allowed due to COVID etc?

Ive tried - I just get reception who say they don’t know.
Yes they will accept but it would have to be PAT tested first before use.
Surely reception should know who to pass you to.

They’re useless. (Reception, not the nurses!) you can be on hold for 30 mins before phone even gets answered!
If the hospital is in a Trust there should be a secretary to the chairman. Can you find a phone number for the trust not the hospital.
I'm not too sure I'd want to be in a hospital ward with fans blowing everyone's stuff (skin, bugs, dust etc) around!
Bear in mind it could go astray and end up in an overpaid penpusher's office and not to those who deserve it.

It was just a thought as everyone was really struggling with it being so muggy in there .
i wouldn't buy it smow, as someone said it will end up in someone's office most like.

I just wanted to do something for them but I get what you mean x
S. Do more enquiries. Not all equipment goes to offices. It’s a nice gesture. Would be a great asset to the ward
Find out Trust that runs the hospital and call the secretary
do they have a league of friends? I think they buy this sort of stuff
A lovely suggestion, but apart from Covid and Electrical Safety issues, like others here, I do believe it would end up elsewhere.
I doubt they'd take it. They supplied me with a zimmer frame when I was ill. I've used it once and they won't take it back.
they rarely take stuff back that is issued from the hospital.....
You could try taking one straight to the ward
