For the last decade +, Theland *HAD* been R&S!!!
Sure, a few goofballs, (like goodlife) do their hit and run thing but at least Theland had the tenacity to stick it out.

Just like the High Street, R&S will die without him....

I don't think Theland and me were of the same Church background, but I always admired him for doggedly fighting his corner.

about which were IN and which were OUT.

and Mr Rhymer ( my old english teacher that is!) said that there were doubts about Pauline authorship even then ( they didnt think the old bagga had written them to you and me). But they were still included as the theology was what they wanted. = doctrine was orthodox

As AB is, on the whole, an ethnically 'white' site the flavour of the 'religion' here is "white Christianity" which has experienced massive decline over the past 50 years, hence no proteges in the wings.

Other religions and other demographics religious beliefs are flourishing but we are unlikely to get much of that on here.

Archibaldy, the CofE is experiencing dwindling figures but the happy clappies are doing rather well.

Naomi I can believe that’s true for the USA but the UK, do you have any stats or experience on that?

I’ve got very little personal experience, last church I went to was a Catholic about 6 months ago, was pretty empty but there was a lot of non-white, the whites were mainly Eastern Europeans.

I was so so sad to see about theland. I'm not sure we ever agreed on anything, but I had a lot of respect and affection for him. I hope he is wherever he wanted to be.

R&S won't die. I think we will all very much notice his loss, but it will evolve (sorry, theland ;-)) and carry on.

That article is interesting Naomi, it does seem to tie in with my observations of many Eastern European’s at the Catholic Church. It will be interesting to see the 2021 census data on this when it comes out as that may tell us a bit more about the way it’s all going.
