Today's lunch-time match (k.o 12;30) sees Spurs host a Brentford side who will not be able to rely on the services of their talisman Ivan Toney - suspended until January 2024 for being a naughty boy. Toney does not only score lots of goals for Brentford, he also links up their attacking play and is always on hand in defence at set-pieces.
To say he will be a big miss is an understatement and even an underachieving side such as Tottenham should be confident of victory against them. Kane is obviously the main man but Son has found his shooting boots of late with 4 goals in his last 7 games, and has scored against Brentford in their last two encounters at home (both resulting in 2-0 wins for Spurs).
Willy Hill offer EVENS for Son to have at least one shot on target and i've taken the offer, to it's £10 max stake.
Toney was guilty of breaching gambling rules. Another person with an addiction and more money than sense. Greed got the better of him. And there he was at one time, going down on one knee for BLM, when all the time he couldn't give a t o ss, as long as he could get a bet on.
What beats me is, if our football players want to have a punt on football matches, why don't they get a mate to place the bets for them?
Though how you can tie in going down on one knee with his gambling is quite beyond me, 10C.
Ken I hope you don't mind me asking you but which team do you think will win out of Coventry City and Luton Town playing 27th May in the Championship Play-Off Final. A son of mine wants to place a bet and I think he's potty but what do I know about it, nowt!
Thanks.
Ladybirder, far be it from me to give tips - honestly i don't - but before a ball was kicked in the play-off games, i backed Luton, Sheff Wed & Stockport to be promoted. I got fairly decent prices, but Luton are around 6/4 to win the final inside 90 minutes and 8/11 to be promoted (which takes in extra time and a penalty shoot-out if needed_
If your son is set on having a punt on Luton, he may be better advised to think of 4 or 5 things that could happen during the game - number of yellow cards, corners, goals, players to have shots on target, etc, etc - and put a 'build your own bet' on with someone like Willy Hill.
And i'm really pleased i edit my threads before posting, because initially it did not say 'shots' on target :-)
Coventry are around the 21/10 mark, not an unattractive price if you're putting a sizeable amount on. But if you're just a fun punter, like me, my earlier advice would suit just the same.
Best of luck to him, whatever he decides:-)
