As I have said before, I get offended all the time, but as a mature adult, I have realised that it's not my world, I don't get to control everyone's speech and nehaviour.
What really grinds my gears is this creeping 'may cause offence ...' nonsense.
Are we really going to stop something because someone MAY be offended, with no actual evidence that they are?
And if they are, the parties involved can have a discussion, and reach a compromise, it's what grown-ups do.
I doubt any Muslim would actually be offended by a sports team, with the name 'Crusaders' in its handle, and if they are, then they need to have a word with themsevles.
And while I'm here - what about people who use napkins in restaurants as hankies when they are eating, and then leave them on the plate?
Now that really IS offensive!!!!!!!!!
AH: "I doubt any Muslim would actually be offended by a sports team, with the name 'Crusaders' in its handle, and if they are, then they need to have a word with themsevles." - yep I agree the real problem is the collaborators, the ones assuming that offence would be taken and then acting on that like the new modern fascists. They are the Liberal types who have set their stall out thus.
