I wouldn't call Hymie a populist - attention seeking, maybe.

While he draws the ire of the deranged left-wing (something which only has to be a good thing, by the way), Farage is, by definition a "man of the people"- someone who understands and relates to the concerns of his electorate- 46.2% vote share from the good people of Clacton.  Whatever his private life, the fact is that what Farage says chimes with millions of ordinary people up and down the country.  If common sense is "populist" bring it on.
