I have received an email informing me that I have won 552,000 pounds. The email is from THE UK NATIONAL LOTTERY. Please forgive me for being cynical but I am assuming this is a scam to get me to send off money for transfer fees of winnings .etc.
I have replied to the email expressing my doubts, and a few other things besides!!!!
Hi mifta
I get those type of emails every so often. had quite a few recently.
Yes, they are a scam and I certainly would not be replying to them.
I just totally ignore them and delete as they come in. I do not even open them now.
Good luck.
I 'retired' last Sept. And the fella who now has my job keeps getting emails (apparently from Nigeria..) requesting details of my bank account. Luckily he's a bright fella and tells 'em I've snuffed it.. How on earth did they get details of my (now previous) job?
spammers send out millions of emails (it's done by robots); most of the addressees won't exist but a few will. By replying, you confirm that your address is live. So never reply to this sort of thing, even out of curiosity. Having said that, it probably won't make any difference; but if they want to target you, they now know where you can be found.
PS if you actually have won, you might like to invest some of your funds in this handy tax-avoidance scheme I have going...
Between Nigerian widows and UK Lottery wins I have more money than I can handle in sveral lifetimes. If only I had opened a bank account and sent the Swiss code to these scamsters.....
Good luck mifta. Watch though that clicking on their site hasnt opened you up to receiving an avalanche of this grunge for some time to come.
