Operation Trident

White man kills white man.
White man kills black man.
Black man kills white man.
Black man kills black man.
Can someone tell me why only the last case has its own very special force - Operation Trident - 'black-on-black' crime. I mean, seriously, WHY does this have a category and resources of its own ? Is it a special type of killing ?

Trident has a category and resources of its own because gun crime is abnormally higher within London's black communities than elsewhere. It is usually drug related and though drug dealers shooting each other saves a lot of police time and resources, innocent people sometimes clumsiley get themselves murdered and it becomes hard to ignore.

So there is an issue <gun crime) which affects everyone and is higher amongst the black community.
Lets set up a special task force to deal with the issue
No you can't so that - its politically incorrect!
For someone who constantly complains that we pander to immigrants, that we as a country have gone too far in political correctness, why are you complaining about this?
Surely you think that a taskforce to try and stop crime is a good thing?

So is it fair to say that as a percentage of population black people are more likely to be drug dealers and violent criminals?
Blimey - does that mean I can say that black people are more likely to push drugs and kill, maim and generally harm people than white people without being accused of racism?
I always remember a few years ago Condon, the Met commissioner being accused of racism when he stated that as a percentage of the London population young black men were more likely to commit street crime than anybody else - he had undeniable facts and yet was accused of racism, which is just bananas.
I ask simply because there are a number of people on this site (they know who they are) who are very very quick to accuse other users of racism when no such racism exists

I am being slightly facetious - there are people on this site who do have racist leanings, but they are few and far between, but there are more people who are quick to squel racism at even the slightest criticism of anybody or anything that is not white.
Not only is this very irritating and pathetic, but it also lessens the impact of true racism.

It is undeniable that certain crimes are more prevalent in some classes, cultures, ethnicities than in others. What assumption you cannot make is to then project it on to the rest of that sub-groups law abiding peoples.
Not all white people are football hooligans
Not all poor people are shoplifters
Not all rich people are embezzlers
Not all black people are druggies and murders

Firstly, let me explain that my interpretation of racism is judging people based purely on their skin colour / religion / ethnic origin.
When you say "Then let me know which of my comments are racist, anyone with a modicum of intelligence will see they are either expressions of opinion and/or statements of fact." - an opinion can be racist so I am unsure as to your meaning of this (maybe I don't have a modicum of intelligence).
Yes fiest82 accused you of racism - but bear in mind that he has a green user names which means he has been registered less than 2 week.
The majority of people who use this site give intelligent, well thought out answers (even if I don't agree with them).
It will however irritate people if you do say things like: And please don't go on about the "moderate Muslims" - who are so always absent in their comdemnation. Whose side do you think they would take if push came to shove, ours or the extemists?
You are judging (expressing an opinion) based on absolutely no facts at all. The Muslim council have repeatedly condemned any terrorist activities and there have been several cases of Muslims speaking out against the attacks - of course you do have to hunt for it as it is not 'good' news. Can't see the Daily Mail reporting it as front page news can you?
There is a big difference between speaking out against terrorists and sparking out against Muslims - the two are not intertwined just as the IRA and Catholics are not the same!

Just read the thread you highlighted. Glad I stayed out of that one. You should not be worried if people call you a racist if you are equally confident that you are not.
Without wishing to go over old battles, were you advocating a ban on burkas because one of the 21/7 dressed as a woman to escape?
I also found fanciful the notion that ordinary people will elect the BNP and that would be the protestors' own fault. Only someone who is inherently racist would be moved to vote for the BNP because of those silly placards.

Sometimes people ca get the idea you are racists not just by what you say, but also by what you don't say.
Just out of interest, do you think this question by whiffey has racist undertones? It obviously has its own force and resources because murder within the black communities is proportionally higher than in the other categories. As Ruby27 enquired, Is this a genuine question? Chances are that whiffey knew the answer before posting the question, but was just seeking to highlight Trident and why it is needed. Do you agree?

The ones that are identifiable in the Mail article are:
British Police go to hell
Crusade against Muslims
Muslims under siege
Government Terrorist Government
Police Target Muslims
British Police Home Grown terrorists
Only guilty to worshipping Allah
Muslims persecuted for their belief
Christian Crusade against Islam
Every statement above is ridiculous, untrue, plain daft. The people in the photos who are holding the placards and believe these statements are therefore rather silly, stupid, ignorant and brainwashed. They are in short, idiots. But even idiots have a right to freedom of speech. Take that away and paradoxically, what you have starts to resemble the sharia theocracy these zealots crave.
I feel pity rather than anger. It must be awful to be controlled by their faith to the extent of looking like complete idiots.

What feelings are stirred up inside you when you see these people with "silly placards" criticizing our police for arresting individuals who are on our streets avocating the murder (including beheading) of our citizens?
Pretty much the same feelings that I get when I go onto AnswerBank (a UK based site that can be seen across the world) and see British people calling for people to be maimed and tortured and given the death penalty for some crimes.
The same sort of feeling that I get when I view people on this site saying that Madeline's parents don't deserve sympathy as they should have been more thoughtful.
And finally the same sort of feeling when I see the growing intolerance of 'other people' - be them old fogeys, young hooligans, muslim terrorists, pikey scum etc etc.
