Funny wedding!!!
5 Answers
Well my sister in law got married yesterday and after falling down the stairs the week before in the wedding shop and breaking her wedding finger we thought nothing else would happen! But it did, the vicar fell down 2 stairs in the church and just managed to save himself without completely rolling on the floor, as bridesmaid at the front I managed to hold back my giggles! Thne the photographer was walking backwards trying to position himself to take a picture and ended up falling over the bride's daughter who was on the floor behind him picking up confetti!! He fell completely over but wasn't hurt, again I had to stop laughing! Has anyone else had little disasters like this happen at their weddings? I think it was my mum in laws way of keeping our spirits up as she died in June and her daughter chose to have her wedding day on what would have been her birthday.

But I made a terrible mistake one Sunday morning after services. As I stood at the door shaking hands and exchanging niceties with people leaving, a young couple came next in the queue.
I was surprised to see them there, bless their hearts. And I said so. My goodness, Im surprised to see the two of you here today! I would have thought both of you had been up at it all night long.
My daughter who was standing beside me was, frantically pulling on my surplice sleeve whilst the couple seemed to be trying to digest what I had just said. Daddy, my daughter quickly whispered to me, this is the couple you married yesterday. NOT the Baptism!
I had commented several times over the fact that the two couples looked so much alike. And I suppose my exhaustion got the better of me.
They laughed politely when I explained my mistake. But Ill never forget the over-the-shoulder glance I received from the husband as they walked down the path!

Part 2
In August when we were having all those torrential storms, I was scheduled to do a walk-through rehearsal for a wedding this month. As I came down the village lane, the weir dam burst sending a wall of water over the bonnet of my car and into my window. The current picked the car up and turned it on its side. I only barely escaped and once out of the window, I lost grip of my Jack Russell who was with me. He was carried off down stream. Other people saw the distress I was in and came to my rescue. Thankfully, within about thirty minutes, the water was down to ankle depth, although still moving rapidly. I was less than 200 metres from the church. I may have been in shock, but I thanked everyone whilst saying I had to get to the church. I was completely drenched, shoes filled with water and hair looking something like Medusa.
The poor couple didnt know what to think as I shloshed up the steps to the church and did the walk-through with water running all over the stone floors. I was terribly distracted at the time and almost in a daze, with images of the car on its side just down the road. All of a sudden, a brown ball of mud came running into the church, yelping and crying, jumping all over me. As I sat down, holding the dog in my arms, my clerical shirt changed from being wet-black to mud brown. It was an unreal experience and not one I wish to ever have happen again.
Thankfully, Ive not had any unfortunate experiences during weddings. However, Ive had a few surprises at Baptisms and funerals!
I hope all the tribulations will be seen as signs of promise rather than omens.

HuFlung: Thank you for asking. He was terribly traumatised. After the recovery people came to collect the car I took him to the vet. Physically he seemed OK. However, he wouldnt leave my side for a day or so. Hes a working dog. I take him to nursing homes and hospice with me for residents to pat and cuddle. I wasnt able to bring him for several days afterwards because his behaviour was so strange. Now, thankfully, the venerable Mr. Piddles seems to be doing quite well.
Thank you for your kind question.
