Yes - it would only be if I had to kill it and cut it up myself I'd seriously think about not eating it!

i have seen it and it never botherd me at all even so its not very nice to see animals going in and then watching cows skins coming out or heads going in steel bins outside steaming the only thing that i didnt like was the smell from there bellies

No probably not (at least for a while) I like my food to look nothing like an animal (hate fish with the head on, don't look at me when I'm eating). In fact I've only just found out that fish don't have fingers! ;-)

No most definately not. Did you see that programme that was on BBC3 a few weeks ago, it showed the meat basically from the field to the plate.

I only watched the one about lamb (I don't like lamb) and I couldn't watch it. The poor little lambs being electrocuted and when that didn't kill them, getting their throats slit...
I couldn't watch. Strangely enough, once they had been killed, gutted and skinned and just looked like a carcas you see hanging up in a butchers shop (remember them?) I wasn't so bothered. It was the actual slaughter that affected me.

There is no way I could have watched the one with calves or piglets, I like beef and pork/bacon too much and it would seriously have put me off eating either.

Yes, I have and I do. These animals are bred for food.

I have seen so many times, In fact I have slaughtered lambs myself. God created all the animals for food of human exluding those which few Religions do not allow. So why not.

A friend was in training with the SAS. In the classroom they were being taught how to kill and butcher animals. 'Could you do it?', the instructor asked. They all agreed they could.
'Right. Youve all seen the sheep tethered outside. Here's a pocket-knife. That sheep is your lunch!'.

Probably not - although I wouldn't go in one for a million pounds. I eat some meat, but very little compared to years ago and I could quite easily do without it these days. I actually don't particularly like it any more. Fish, however, I am addicted to.

No, it wouldn't concern me, though I'm sure it's not a pleasant experience, for them or me.

What concerns me far more is what happens before the animal is slaughtered - the overcrowding, chemical force-feeding, and inhumane transport conditions. That's what limits my meat consumption.

And if you've ever seen a battery chicken farm, you'd buy free range eggs.

Actually 4candles, I totally agree with you on this. However, I do believe that all is not as humane as it should be in slaughter houses either.

I worked in an abattoir for a while, and it made no difference to my eating habits, and I still enjoy my meat and the odd steak now and then. Some people I have spoken to about this say that its cruel and animals should not be kept and slaughtered for human consumption. Well everyone is entitled to their own opinion, all I would say to those people is that I sincerely hope they are all strict vegans!

I personally realise the need for animals to be bred for slaughter for human consumption. However, I know there is a lot of behind the scenes malpractice and inhumane treatment in the rearing of these animals and in the slaughterhouse.

If an animal has a proper life before slaughter, does not have to endure long transport to the slaughter house and is slaughtered humanely with no prior distress then I see no problem, but unfortunately so often this is just not the case.

In the Army I was taught to catch and kill animals for food, we each had to catch, kill and eat something, I caught rabbits, some caught squirrels, and we killed and ate them ourselves, so, to answer your question, yes I would and still do eat meat

If you attended a live birth and saw all the gunk and filth coming out of a ripped vagina with the woman unecessarily screaming and a gunky baby with a long blue sausage hanging from their belly button. Then visit them in a few days with stinking yellowy mustard crap fillingtheir nappy and the woman with well sucked and smarting nipples enjoying sleepness nights and disolvable stitches, would you still have unprotected sex if trying for a baby?

The answer is probably yes.

That is the most natural thing in the world for man, to hunt and kill for survival 4GS. However, if man were not so greedy and ate less meat (although reared humanely hence more expensive) and more of other forms of food, then I think it would be better.

We are used to cheap meat (especially chicken). I think we should think about it more carefully before we buy.
