Driving to a place of work is not claimable . However if after you have got to work and then use your car for business use then that is claimable at 40p per mile up to 10,000 miles and then 25p after that. You would need to claim on a P87 the tax office will go back six years for claims . If you are getting some fuel expenses from your employer you can only claim the difference between employers payment and top allowance 40p.ie if employer pays 15p per mile then you can only claim 25p per mile.
