Japanese Food.

We are trying a new Japanese restaurant this evening.

Apart from raw fish is it essentially the same as Thai and Chinese.

Yes I know it is like saying English cuisine is like French or Italian, but I really do not know!!!

If you have been to a Jap Restaurant, what would you choose?

A Japanese restaurant is very different from Thai + Chinese restaurant.

In a `Japanese place you will find raw and cooked dishes.

Teppanyaki is a traditional Japanese dish of fried chicken peppers spring onions sweetcorn, + bean sprouts and is very nice, so it's not all about raw fish

I don't mind a little heat in my food, but I am afraid I draw the line at anything hotter (or culturally equivalent to) a MILD madras or bhuna for example.

Does Jap grub come in varying heat like a ruby does?

They do use soy sauce a lot but they tend to 'shy' away from the typical 'bum burner' oriental food you find in Chinese, Thai, Bangladeshi outlets

If you can use 'chopsticks' they wil normally give you a 5-10% discount.
