Why do so many people in this country appear to have negative praise for the above ?. Is it just media driven or do people have minds of their own?.

We have a Land Rover Discovery, it's old, so not expensive or flash, but we have it because it is a seven seater, and we have 3 kids (between us) and spend a lot of time taking them, and various friends, out and about. Plus we have a German Shepherd who likes to come out with us a lot on our travels. Also, my husband is a big guy (6'2") and feels more comfortable in a big car. He also shoots when he can, so uses it for a country hobby.
We certainly don't have it to show off - in fact, I got rid of my Freelander, because it was a convertable, and I felt uncomfortable in it, as it was a little "flash" with the roof down.
But then, I have a big car and big dog, so I'm obviously an idiot... lol :-)

I can't stand the bl00dy things. I object to them in the city, they're too big to go down main roads. I object to them because they are more likely to do harm than a standard car. I object because they are a higher pollutant than other cars. I object to them because they're 'off road' vehicals so take them off the damn road!
My aunt drives one with mine and my sisters name as license places... That means it reads KKK. I really f**ing object to that.

I'm afraid I don't drive and have no desire to learn, (live in central London so no point) so there's no jealousy involved. Just a deep loathing of a stupid car not built for the city that generally only has one passenger in it.
I was nearly mowed down by one the other day so I don't suppose that soothes my dislike.
