Horrific email of images of Muslim protesters in London
49 Answers
I have just received an email from a friend with photos of the muslim protesters in London on a 'peace rally'. Their placards state things like 'behead those that insult Islam' and 'Europe be warned your 9/11 is on its way' and 'exterminate those that insult Islam"
Frankly this terrifies me. And I know this is going to stir up some strong comments on here from you all - but where is this going to stop? Why is it they can incite hatred against the people that built this nation?
I cant help but feel there is a simmering, underlying resentment about to explode - either them or the non-muslims I am not sure.
But it really scares me - it scares me that I am not allowed to voice my opinions for fear of retaliation and it scares me that they would rather see me dead than accept I have different views from theirs.
Whatever happened to live and let live?

Who is qualified to decide?
Should we put an end to restitution in Poland?
How about liebensborne, should we just forget about it?
How about the Armenian genocide?
Today there are people alive whose property was stolen off them in the war, do they not deserve some compensation (Poland)? Palestine too for that matter.
Today in Germany roughly 250,000 people think they're German when in reality they're Polish, stolen from their parents during the war.
1.5 million people died in the Armenian genocide, any female from 8 to 80 was liable to be raped many were forced to marry, their children forced to convert, should we just forget?
How many Turks alive today are really Armenian?
Lest we forget?
Or is that just for a minute in November?
You have to acknowledge a wrong to build a future, otherwise the hurt goes on.
Right wing politics thrives on injustice, percieved or otherwise, Martin Luther King said "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" I never understood that until 9/11.

Yes 123Everton I get your point...
You quote"You have to acknowledge a wrong to build a future, otherwise the hurt goes on. "
As a nation (and as individuals) if something terrible happens to you and it hurts and you suffer - you can only actually move on to the future if you learn accept and move forwards. Put a lid on it and move on.. Peopl who have issues with their relationships tend to be people who are carrying psychological baggage from the past - we cannot more on if we keep on going over old ground.
It becomes a one-upmanship contest as to who has been hurt the most or who has suffered more... and so it continues.
SH** happens - you have to accept this in life and more importantly learn and change and move forwards. All the time you carry it with you you will not get anywhere.
If I could give the whole nation counselling I would.. thats whats needed!

Not quite, look at Germany, Germany has faced up to it's responsibilities with regard to the holocaust, it is because of this Germany can move on and build a future.
Turkey has never acknowledged the Armenian genocide and on March 23 the Prime Minister of Turkey will pay his respects to the organiser of the genocide (Talaat Bey) it was the world's indifference to the Armenian suffering that led Hitler to say "who talks of the Armenians now?" the rest is, well, "history".
Take the rape of Nanking, the Japanese don't acknowledge the atrocities they committed so much so that, again, ministers of state pay their respects at monuments that commemorate war criminals.
These things matter because the people who suffered for it mattered, their antecendents still matter and it still matters to them.
Take Bible John, his victims, long since dead (murdered), himself long since dead, should they not have dug him up to say for certain he did it?
What good did it do?
It brought closure.
You hve to identify the injustices, you have to identify the wrongs on all sides (like apologising for slavery) with the gesture of an apology, with the notion of acknowledgement you can start to bring about reconciliation.
Easier said than done.
The idea of a Maoist style year zero, is not the solution.
Mary Shelley wrote "the best place to start a story is at the beginning, but like all beginnings, it is based in what has gone before."

To conclude 123 Everton, the posts were not about Turks, Germany, china, polish etc, They were not the Sht Ars Bsds that were mouthing off at our lads it was a handful of Extremists that have come over here from there sht hole of a country to claim whatever goes may it be benefits, the NHS, anything, if they think this country & the people are evil why the fk don't they pis off to there rat infested, NO BENIFT country, do you think they will do that, they day that happens I'll show my ars in M&S.
If these people were born here and as many of these people's parents were born here then this their country.
You have to look at the issues surrounding the politics to bring consensus.
We need people to stand up for the democracy we currently have, "go back to bam bam land where you belong" is not a riposte that will bring peace, justice or prosperity to anyone.

TWR, take 7/7 on that day I got up and saw the headlines roll across the bottom of the screen on Channel 5, all I saw was "bomb, bus, Liverpool".
I work on the buses and I live in Liverpool at no point did I think about not going to work that day.
Are you suggesting that the people of these cities, the survivors of these atrocities wish death upon all Muslims?
Your analogy makes you look foolish, and furthermore such sentiments make you no better than the people you hate.
In your own inimitable way you've answered the last part of the question, "what ever happened to live and let live?"
