I did a brief stint (ard 4 months) in AB last year and sort of lost contact with the site. Does anyone remember me here(no peeking in profile)? (i used to do this section and the science section).
I remember people like naomi, mibn2cweus, jakethepeg keyplus90, chakka, geezer, loni...
This is just to check the magnitude impact one makes here in others life..

Robb, for various reasons I`ve been away from AB for about 8 months and discovered that, apart from a couple of stalwarts, there`s probably been an 80% or more changeover in names. It shocked me, but having never been a forum member before thought that that was the nature of the beast. People come, go and come back...

The change of names dont matter at all...im measuring the impact...the ideas generated and their effect on people...i believe you would always remember something about the person who has changed you in some way regardless of its magnitude

ah no....i am not naive to expect that if thats what you are suggesting as i am quite well of now thank you...this is just my experiment...
since AB doesnt have many users or questions i expected to get the relevant answers here as compared to sites like yahoo answers where i would most probably be viewed as a sad loner(mistake view me through the same goggles here)....
I Guess people are not just getting the purpose of this....It is to answer (Dont mind answering it) :
1. Why do you guys come here?
2. AB goes dead for long spells how do you keep coming here instead of switching to more active sites
3. Since AB has quite a small user base...does it become sort of like a family(answering the previous question)...thus making a bigger and more personal impact where the personality of the person shadows the answers he gives and if so how big
and thus this experiment...

to be honest i havent been here that long just a few wweeks. i reckon the appeal is the familiarity, but also anonymity. jumping on here to answer a couple of questions or give an opinion breaks the boredom of just surfing the usual rubbish websites.
