To do a placement in a hospital in Cuba, would one have to speak Spanish? Or are there any parts of Cuba in which they speak English?

You don't say what kind of work placement you want to do but sorry, but how could you do a serious work placement ( other than say a porter) in a hospital and not speak the language? Most of the patients may not speak English, so you would probably be more of a hindrance than a help...... People are always complaining over here about not understanding foreign doctors and nurses whose English is not brilliant.

Well, obviously! Or are you one of those arrogant British people who expects everyone in the world to speak English?

> Or are there any parts of Cuba in which they speak English?

There are about as many parts of Cuba in which they speak English as there are parts of Britain in which they speak Spanish.

What a stupid question!
