I left my compost out in the rain without closing the bag, and of course it is now wet through. This might sound daft but could i put small portions in the micro-wave to dry it out? As I would like to get some seeds started over the weekend.

No, it will have done no harm in the rain, and seeds don`t need any fertiliser, that`s why you should use `Seed Compost` to start them.
Just put the soil in trays and near a radiator and by the weekend it'll be fine. It'll save you having to water for a few days.
