How do I find out if someone has died? I don't mean checking for pulses etc, I wondered if there was a web page that lists people who have died in the UK in recent years.
many thanks.

Oh I didn't know Fess Parker was still alive! Well he isn;t now but blimey! Robert Culp has died too, missed that, and Peter Graves too,
I will assume you mean ordinary people who aren't famous. As far as I know you would need to look in the paper registers at the Registry of Births, Marriages and Deaths. The records were held at St Catherine's House until 1997, when they were transferred to the Family Records Centre at Myddleton Street in North London.

I have found the following website useful. I think it only goes up to 2007 however. You have to pay online to use it but it seems reasonably priced.

I think for up-to-date records you have to go in person to the Family Records Centre (maybe one day it will all be online).
I think Ancestry.com cover up to 2005
You could try asking neighbours of where the person lived or if you know where they lived and approx when they may have died, contact the local church and see if they are recorded there
Try the local newspapers website for the area that the death occured.
