How can anyone with any sort of free will place any credence in a religion so weak, so insular,so paranoid, so backward that it has to kill converts to another religion ?

And what is the penalty for atheism? Death, or something a bit less drastic?

There is the cognitive dissonance that i am speaking of. Keyplus attempts to muddy the water and suggest that the death penalty is being sought for something other than apostasy - a claim comprehensively rubbished since the original charge contained only the one entry - Apostasy.

Add to that the recognition that the Koran does not explicitly require the death penalty, yet still Keyplus refuses to condemn the religious nutters that interpret the text in such a way as to demand the Death Penalty.

Keyplus -That the very idea that a person is under the theat of state-sanctioned death, merely over what is at best a thought crime does little to persuade me that religion confers any benefits. How any rational, empathetic caring individual can sanction such a trial and sentence is beyond me.

Lazy – I would condemn religious nutters more than you would ever dream if I know the both sides of the story. I have learnt in my life that listen to everyone but believe no one unless both parties are heard. Otherwise for argument sake if I do believe that they are only punishing him for apostasy and nothing else then according to Islamic teachings it is wrong and I condemn it. Is that enough or you want to give me that in your own words and I would be happy to sign the paper.

Naomi – As for 9/11 there is a huge number of people in USA and everywhere who either say the it was an inside job. So it does not make any difference if I believe or do not believe that who did it. As for Ken Bigley, all I know that people who killed him spoke Arabic and perhaps were holding Quran too and I am sure lots of None Muslims can do that as well. However just like I said to Lazy – If it is proved without a doubt that people who did that were in fact Muslims still it does not make Islam responsible as they were doing something which is nowhere allowed in Islam or perhaps you can give me few more verses to prove otherwise and I would prove you wrong again.

Naomi - Don't you understand that on that thread I decided not to waste anymore time with you. Simple reason was that after you did not have a response to my question then you gave a long list of things I believe or do not believe. However that is all your own belief. I do not have time to list all those otherwise I could have done it there. But those are your words not mine as many where I do believe in few of those things I do not believe others. Perhaps you can post another thread with your last post on that and re-list things I believe or I do not and once again I will prove to you that anything I believe agrees 100% with proven scientific facts. I did say that few people here are just to make people give up and you are on the top of the list with that attitude. So either I usually give up and make you a winner or ignore you and still give you a chance to be a winner. Because as I said before you have 24 hrs available on this website while others have other things to do.

Ok so you have nothing in response to my post so therefore I would re-phrase. First of all lets talk about 9/11. You say that it were done by Muslims and I say there is no valid proof. Let’s leave that aside and I would ask you one simple question that I have asked so many time before. You answer that and I will accept that not only 9/11 was carried out by Muslims but also it was according to the teachings of Islam.

Give me one example from the aviation history where a whole plane evaporated as they claim to have happened at Pentagon.

Once you have answered that then we would talk about Ken Bigley.

Because I want to get out of this quickly and want to get back to the original topic of this thread.

It's just one nutter without a gun - who believes in one flavour of twaddle - being held by a bunch of nutters with guns - who believe in another flavour of twaddle. What the nutters with guns want is for the nutter without the gun to say that he now doesn't believe in flavour of twaddle any more but instead believes in their flavour of twaddle.

If it was me, and nobody with more guns was going to come and save me, I'd just tell them whatever they wanted to hear and get on the next bus home. His captors are idiots and he pastor is an even bigger one. If he gets himself killed over this then he is a fool and his captors are murderers.
