I think there is a lot of evidence to support that idea, just look at all the people that still die in the name of this supposed God or Allah!!
Would we have a perfect world, of course we wouldnt, we would just have a slightley less violent world.
Like I have said on here recently.
Do the research and you will find the most violent and war torn countries are also the most religious, the most peaceful countries are the countries with the most atheists.
I wont post links to prove my point I want you to prove it to yourself, I also accept that you would not and could not possibly accepts that as fact. Your brainwashed mind could never allow that!

Lonnie, that's what I thought.
Ratter, Oh right. I'm not sure he's sure what he means either. :o)
This question is ill thought-out - actually I'd go so far as to say it's just plain daft.
With //no suicide bombers, no religious wars, and no televangelists fleecing their flocks.// it has to be a better world. Why would anyone want all that to continue? Perhaps you'll tell us Truthabounds.

@Truthabounds - Not entirely sure why you think that only "New Atheists" envisioned such a world - I would imagine all atheists have felt pretty much the same way. And whilst we are at it, who are these "New Atheists" anyway, and how do they differ from Atheists? Probably less willing to offer false deference or unearned respect to someones beliefs, I would venture - and rightly so.
As to you question - A hearty, unqualified yes to such a vision. And regarding the evidence, well one thing is for certain sure - you religious types have had 100s of years to bring such a vision to pass, but have failed due to warped thinking and a lack of respect for human life on earth. Pretty much anything would have to offer a significant benefit!

Not if it's still populated by human beings - they'd just be less deluded human beings.
People would still fight over real things like land, water and other resources. But it might remove some of the excesses justified or excused by a claimed association with a supernatural being.
