Hello,
My name is Grace and I am a student in a Journalistic Writing class. My current assignment is to write an editorial on firm believers of the Zodiac and/or astrology. It would be great to get opinions from any believers of the Zodiac for reference in my paper.
Here is a list of questions to answer:
1. When did you start getting interested in the Zodiac?
2. How do you keep up with Zodiac signs/know all of your information?
3. In what ways do you think the Zodiac can be helpful or hurtful in life?
4. What is so interesting about the Zodiac to you?
5. Any other facts/comments?
Thank you very much, this will be very helpful!

Best of luck with your survey Grace, unfortunately I don't fit the criteria so can't actually help you, but I will say I suspect a common reason for getting started might be having reached a life stage when one wanted to seem knowledgeable in something 'cool' to impress the opposite sex with ;-)
You could always pad it out with historical facts. Most ancient peoples believed passionately in the zodiac.
I believe there is some truth here and there in the Zodiac, but it is more complex then simply reading your zodiac in a newspaper. Some cycles work on the Moon, others the Sun it depends on which Planets are rising or in some cases, which time you were born is also crucial.

To understand the Zodiac, one should read as many books as possible on it and then form their own opinions. I do find that I am say attracted to a particular star sign and they are so wrong for me. I have found that the people I most love in my life have been of the signs recommended in most books.

I do also see the similarities in personality of people sharing a zodiac sign and can usually guess someone's star sign before asking them. Thus I find the Zodiac helpful, maybe a warning at times to keep away from certain people esp marrying male Leo's.
I cannot see how everyone with the same birthsign can be of the same character. Even ID twins can be different.

Having said that, its amazing how there are certain signs that I do and dont get on with and certain ones I wouldnt trust. I have learned all this from experience. I do sometimes read my stars just for a bit of fun though
Welcome to Ab Grace, do you have an Owl?
I had a professional astrological birthchart done some years back, and was impressed at (a) how accurate it was, and (b) how complex it was. The horoscope columns in magazines and newspapers are unlikely to be accurate as there is far much more going on in a horoscope than just your zodiac sign. A professional astrologer will look at where all the planets were at the time of birth, and also consider the relationship between different planets' positions at the time.

I'd always wondered why I have very few of the traditional Aries characteristics that are usually associated with my sign. But I now know that the other things going on in my birthchart are actually far more significant. It really is a very complex subject and magazine horoscopes are superficial simply because they are so limited.
Oh Baldric, I do hope we're not making ter-wits of ourselves again.
I dont believe in astrolgy but most people who do, do it blindly . I am very sure that many astrology/zodiac believers won't be able to answer your question as they are very tough .
Many moons ago I worked for the local rag. The person who did the horoscopes was a wee, fat, baldy man who worked in a wee "buckie". Very nice person who just regurgitated what had been written over the years.
I dont believe in Astrology. I'm a Capricorn and Capricorns dont believe in Astrology.
I used to make a (small) living writing horoscopes for a women's magazine. I don't believe in them now, and I didn't believe in them then. But - here's the hilarious bit - at the launch party I was asked to predict how long the magazine would last. I looked randomly at my Tarot cards, and said six months. In fact it lasted for eight months, and they paid me for ten months' work. I never laughed so much in my life.
