The religious wonder why atheists question them

Anyone with the least amount of intelligence must read this with their jaws on the floor.
The way that creationists manipulate everything to their own ends just defies any sort of critical logic.

Its pretty dire, to be teaching this sort of drivel as science. It could be discussed during comparative religious studies, I guess. There is also an organisation called A-Beka? or similar that has its own drivel - teaching for kids that suggests the dinosaurs and man co- existed,or that no transitional fossils exist.

beso - if you think about it, OG's words do most certainly apply to the religious! Why else would the Christian church, for example (and I'm talking about Christianity generally here, not just one branch), be continually redefining itself as it evolves?
(Red rag to a bull here, I know, but I'm feeling mischievous.)

Ho hum, as I seem to have to read it let's look at it.
If one finds a Loch Ness monster then there would be nothing stopping it being discussed in a science textbook. Until it is found it is mere speculation.
If dinosaurs co-exists with us it would neither confirm nor deny evolution so it has nothing to say on whether evolution is flawed or not.
Not sure what to say regarding the rest of it, it seems to fly off on a tangent. I don't find the article very readable. was there a point to it ?
And now it is lunch time.

It is this sort of distortion of science and the teaching of science that concerns me the most about the free schools proposals over here, implemented by Gove. Its my understanding that most of those groups who have applied to start free schools have a religious motivation for doing so, which I think is a huge backward step for our society....

But why do so many poeple today question the existence of God? Why is atheism, and the church unable to stop it? What is responsible for this unprecedented disbelief.
Well it is not, The existence of wickedness and the suffering it has brought to mankind does not arbitrarily rule that a God of love does not exist. Such a view overlooks entirely man’s responsibility. It is like a patient who ignores a doctor’s instructions, and then denies the existence of the doctor because he is suffering. In such cases it would be foolish to question the existence of a compassionate doctor or a skilled manufacturer. The individual himself is to blame for the suffering and trouble.

@ Goodlife -Your god surely likes to load the deck in their favour, dont they?
If something happens that could be described as a miracle, you lot are only too quick to claim the glory on your gods behalf.
If its a disaster though, a calamity - your god is nowhere to be seen, its all our fault. What a scam artist! Dont blame the doctor - blame the patient! Were there truly a god, they could quite fairly be described a sociopath, displaying an attitude like that..Fortunately, we can be reasonably certain there isn't, and relax, safe in the knowledge that some omnipotent being is not using us as their own personal sim civilisation
Rationalists and humanists overlook nothing, and are perfectly content to continue to try and improve the lot of man - no supernatural help needed, asked for or is evident.
Fundamentalist or evangelical belief in a god is nothing more than stone age thinking in a space age world.

So, my dear gl, what about the misery and suffering of those who lived through the millennia before your God chose to reveal himself to mankind. They had similar diseases to modern humans and their bodies were penetrated by weapons Were they responsible then for their afflictions?
It is surprising that rational persons can be bothered to apply logic and reason for the pronouncements of these Creationists myself included.
