Would heaven be hell?

If heaven is a place where we can meet up with all our old aquaintances and relatives . Would you want to ?
How about all those people you never want to see again ? Will they be there ?

Would eternal peace be eternal boredom ?

it is not atheists who have trouble believing whats in front of their eyes though... thats what they do believe... something with evidence

Heaven is the place where people who did good things within a given frame work would go. A frame work given by the one who heaven and hell belong to.It does not depend on what you thought was right or good because human likes and dislikes or good and bad depends upon their own individual need and choice. May be the people you did not like where the good people and you only did not like them because they tried to correct you. Who would go to hell or heaven would be decided on the Day of Judgment and few hearts would be broken there as you may want one person to be where you might be but perhaps that person did not deserve it. But once that is done and dusted then you would only be among the people who more or less liked and disliked same things.

But then I bet many here do not believe in something but they would give their views. If I do not believe anything I simply ignore it as what is the point. There is an old saying where I am from that why ask the direction to a place where you would never ever want to go.

The point is there may be something there that you don't know about - and if you ignore it, you'll never know. There's an old saying where I come from too. We live and learn.

If that is true why do you answer most of the posts that you don't believe in ?

If that was really true then you are missing out on a massive source of knowledge. It is only when you are prooved wrong that you have learned something new.

You learn from your mistakes not by getting it right.

When your computer goes wrong and you finally find the answer then you have learnt something.

If instead of ignoring it why not do something positive such as
describing a Repeatable experiment that we all can try to proove that God or Heaven or Hell exists . At the moment all these things are man made assumptions based on wishful thinking.

I really thought that you knew about everything on this planet. At least that is the impression you try to give to the others.

Thanks for telling me what to do if I do not believe in existence of something. And try doing that now for yourself as a starting point. Start thinking about all those things you always believed never existed with OPEN MIND.

Keyplus, you really don’t get it do you? The religious are the people who claim to ‘know’ – not the non-believers. Most of us will say we don’t know, but since there’s no evidence, there is no reason to believe. You have found a road that you think leads to the destination, and so you ignore all other possibilities. Well I have news for you. Transport is no longer relegated to back lanes – we have motorways now that could show you a much better route – if only you took the trouble to look at the map. You need to think again about who has the closed mind.

keyplus I know you were answering Naomi but your use of the term Open Mind is the foundation of science . The difference between you as a Theist and a scientist, is that a scientist puts his beliefs to the test again and again. In fact a scientist tries to prove himself wrong and other scientists with opposing views test out his claims sometimes thousands of times.
You on the other hand are unable/unwilling to put your beliefs to the test.

I am willing to believe anything you say about your beliefs as long as you can put them to the test anytime. That's an Open Mind.

I have asked you and your fellow theists in this post and in others to tell me a test I can use whenever I chose to and I will join your ranks , but you never respond .

Yes, you are right but Naomi does not believe in Science or scientists either when they say something she does not agree with. That is the reason I said "Open mind".

Keyplus, as Modeller said, unlike science (or me), you are unwilling to put your beliefs to the test. I can only presume you are once again referring to poor Professor Moore. The fact is – and it is a fact - there is not a reputable scientist in the world – or even an educated layman - who would agree with what he said – in fact the absence of a repetition of that statement during the past 40 years coupled with his refusal to discuss the matter would indicate rather strongly that he doesn’t agree with it himself – and yet you persist in resurrecting an ancient video he was obliged to make in the most difficult of circumstances. Put your money where your mouth is, Keyplus – put Dr Moore’s statement to the test. Dare to examine the clear and proven evidence against it – and if you persist in refusing to do that for heaven’s sake lay the subject to rest - because in those circumstances you can hardly accuse anyone else of being close-minded.

"Hell" is simply our own grave...Romans 6;23 states that our own death is full payment, like wages, for things we have done wrong...further, Jesus' death fully paid for sin we have inherited...Babies do die, so they are sinners,,,having inherited sin...and they have done nothing wrong.
Genesis 2; 16,17
In the Bible, Hell is Hades...and it says...
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.
No death = no Hades = no graves...
i.e. Hades/ Hell = the grave.
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
