If heaven is a place where we can meet up with all our old aquaintances and relatives . Would you want to ?
How about all those people you never want to see again ? Will they be there ?
From any logical perspective it is obvious that any heaven and hell must be identical. It is the individual's view of existence that selects which one they are in.
I suppose they will be there if they have been very very good. There are a few that I wouldn't want to meet again simply because they are miserable gits. So I would think it would be boredom, unless Heaven has a few corners to hide behind or some wide open places to visit.
Well, the goodly Godless will have all eternity to try and convince all the others in Heaven that it doesn't really exist.
That would mean they wouldn't be bored.
They might not be able to accept the evidence in front of their eyes. In that case they'd set about trying to convince everybody who'd listen that wherever they were it wasn't Heaven.
If you believe in Heaven and Hell, then surely Hell would be Heaven! All those forbidden pleasures and don't forget the virgins, maybe even 72 for each.
For the ladies there are all those deceased raunchy super stars and endless wine casks.
Traditional Heaven seems pretty boring to me. Sitting on a cloud playing the Harp is not my idea of reward for an ecclesiastical life. ☺
@thenry Doh - you mean I have Groucho and Karl all mixed up? And there was me thinking this showed old Karl had a sense of humour as well, you know, to balance against all that serious philosophical stuff, like
"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs."
or like
"Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read."
Karl always was the funniest of the brothers.... :)
