Who created the Universe?

Creation myths and stories of gods emanate from the four corners of the earth, so why believe tales from desert tribesmen of the middle east rather than, say, those of the the ancient Chinese or the Hindu people?

Religion, worship of any nature existed to give theory for things that the earliest life's couldn't explain. As time progressed, faith of whatever type or bias was used to subjugate the masses with fear and as a cool way of extorting people, lets be honest the church if whatever type is not a poor thing. Cortez annihilated the Aztecs with the backing of the Holy See.
Religion in the past is what we effectively now call science, the order of the universe ( however many there are) happened because the circumstances for it to happen we're there and science will find the answers sooner rather than later, Higgs Boson will be the start of it then dark matter then the explanation of the Big Bang, science is the new religion.
Faith is different, I still have a faith, it's in my family it's in the good people of the world, that's what should keep us going faith not servitude to some biased written prose that some one wrote thousands of years ago whether that be the bible, the Koran the Torah or whatever

Vulcan, perhaps you will allow me to answer in goodlife's stead since an answer from him seems not to be forthcoming.
Pick out the bits that suit your agenda and ignore the stuff that satan slipped in to lead you astray. All the rest is to test your faith. If you are unsure which is which then god will guide you by wreaking havoc and devastation on the innocent. Quite obvious really.

Well within theoretical science, theories are often built and much time invested in them on the basis of no observational evidence at all - string theory for example.
So we might ask why scientists believe one such theory over another.
Firstly it shouldn't contradict observational evidence
Secondly it should be internally consistant
Thirdly it should be useful, that is it should provide answers to questions
Finally (ideally) it should provide predictions that can be tested.
Now we could apply these tests to creation myths, the fourth one's a bit unfair because it's based in scientific logic invented since these myths came about, and I'm not expert enough in things like Hindu creation myths to judge but I'd say you could use that framework to measure one up against another and rate them.
Bit of a top trumps creation myths

i think the lord Allah(God) created the universe, in fact the whole world worships God. Regardless of how they do it, its God and God alone who judges things and all the creation depend on God. God is merciful and benovolent, he is the creator and he is the one truth.... and muhammed is his messenger.
If you believe the ravings of various people sitting in a boring land with a boring life, and too much time to think on their hands, is how anyone with intelligence & logic should be told how to live their lives, especially after 1500-2000 years then, excuse me I'll be leaving "your" world, as it's nothing I recognise as truth, or something to aspire too.
