Who says that then?. Ahh, right - that would be some of your fellow faithheads? No bias there then... ;)
There is evidence to show that there is a global decline in religiosity - as much as 10%, year on year, with some notable declines, in places like Ireland, for example.
Religiosity is lower in the developed world rather than the developing, and their is further evidence that religiosity is inversely proportional to educational level and wealth.
Last years census data in the UK showed an increase in those self -identifying as atheists and also confirmed the trend of declining religiosity across the glo
So - some may indeed say atheism has nothing to offer, but as a Heinlein the Sci-Fi author says,
"Theology is never any help; it is searching in a dark cellar at midnight for a black cat that isn't there. Theologians can persuade themselves of anything.”

Stirring that old pot again I see goodlife !
The answer is obvious. If someone is an Atheist, than it shows that they weren't persuaded by any superstitious and sentimental rubbish in the first place. Atheists don't pretend to offer anything...that's the whole point. They are able to make up their own minds about issues, without having to consult ancient works of fiction.

//What Is There About Atheism That Makes A Theist Want To Remain A Theist?// Another one of your generalised lies made to look like the truth .
But if you said Some theists then the answer is :
It highlights the real world which Theists are frightened to accept.
One of those realities is that there are 20 million Atheists in the UK and rising by one and a quarter million every year.
This is the story around the world, the more people are educated the less they believe the fairy stories of religion.
Some people however will always need the crutch of religion.

Atheists have free will. We think for ourselves. We use common sense, the values instilled by our parents and our own moral compass for moral guidelines.
We have a sense of our own belief, not someone else’s, we have no reason to follow a long defunct set of made up rules. We enquire and ask, if there is no answer, we accept that and not attribute it to some unknown entity in the sky.
We accept there are some things that cannot be explained, YET.
We think rationally. We think questioningly. We understand that the book gave completely wrong answers, to ancient questions and that science has given the correct answers and for those it hasn’t, it’s still looking, therefore if the questions that science has answered are correct, everything that religion states as fact is wrong.
So I don’t know why a Theist would want to remain one, unless of course they can’t think for themselves.

In Finland, six-year-old Markus was diagnosed with an incurable muscle disease. Soon he was confined to a wheelchair. A few years later, his mother took him to a Pentecostal who was gaining wide publicity by claiming to cure sick people. But there was no miraculous healing. So Markus lost interest in God and pursued studies in science and other secular fields. Then about five years ago, a woman in a wheelchair accompanied by a young man came to the house where Markus lived. They were Jehovah’s Witnesses. Markus was now an atheist, but he had no objection to discussing religion and invited them in.
Later, a married couple visited him, and a Bible study was started. Eventually, the power of Bible truth changed Markus’ view of things, and he realized that despite his disability, he really did have reasons to praise God. He said: “I am very happy because I have found the truth and the organization that Jehovah is using. My life now has direction and meaning in life.
You have observed the hypocrisy of religion have you not, so many atheists simply cannot reconcile belief in God. sad, and yet some however do feel that it is illogical to believe in God, since we cannot see him.
