If anything, the EDL seems to be the group that has caused more long lasting damage. Two Muslims killed a soldier, yet does this allow you to go around targeting mosques which had nothing to do with the attack?

Jake, this thread is not a game of 'top trumps' body count. The edl are nothing to do with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are a small group of mindless idiots that have no respect from nearly everyone else in this country.

TWR,
What on earth has the English Defence league got to do with the Twin Towers then?
must go to specsavers, thought it was a post about the ed

Ditto!

Maybe time to review the capitals in thread title Ed that was actually in place some 16 months ago?
Lightbulb, //the EDL are making the English look worse by brawling, attacking and destroying mosques.//

Hardly worse than hacking someone to death in the street and chopping his head off! Let’s be realistic here! I agree with doctorb. They are a small group of mindless idiots that have no respect from nearly everyone else in this country.

Doctorb. Jake has a habit of counting bodies – especially if the politics suit him.

David Cameron said that the only way to stand up to terrorism is "Unity". That means unity among all faiths. The EDL however look to be causing more splits in community than unity.
//David Cameron said that the only way to stand up to terrorism is "Unity". That means unity among all faiths.//

No - it means unity between all people.
Question Author
yes, regardless of faith and difference. The EDL clearly do not support that.
The point I'm trying to make, was it the EDL that ANYTHING to do with the Atrocities in those Cities & who was responsible?
I have to agree with Naomi, as usual she talks sense, I cannot fault her observations and her outlook on things she comments on.
How can you have unity when some of our muslims are not aware of the news. Seems muslim women dont watch TV, read papers or access news through their phones because they dont have the freedoms we tfg.

For our troops to have to hide their kit in public and we be fearful of wearing HTH tee shirts is a step too far. If we dont stamp our feet the terrorists will have won.
Lightbulb, //regardless of faith and difference. The EDL clearly do not support that. //

And Muslim extremists do? Planks and eyes spring to mind.

Dailsy, thank you. You're very kind. :o)
sorry *Daisy*.
Question Author
no, muslim extemists do not, but 99% of muslims do.
Rather a specific figure there, Lightbulb. Where does it come from? Do you have anything to support it?

I wonder what percentage of the population belong to the EDL? Any idea? Anyone?
Not sure Naomi, but I'd guess it starts with quite a few nought's. :)
Question Author
figures aside, the majority of Muslims in this country do support Britain and h British people. if you ant to believe otherwise, fine by me.
-- answer removed --
Mindless thugs are mindless thugs, whether they attribute their justification to religion or some unsavoury political ideology. What the EDL is up to is indefensible as are the vile actions of the so-called Muslim extremists (so called because they have little to do with mainstream Islam).
Lightbulb, you don't know the majority of Muslims in this country - and RobKep is right. The answer lies within the Muslim community.
