No matter how many times it's explained, how well it's explained, even though I've watched school programmes about the subject (many years ago) and read various books about it I cannot get my head round gravity.

Please don't try to explain. It makes my mind boggle. I accept I will never understand why Australians aren't clinging on to earth by their toenails.

Is anything explainable beyond your understanding?

For me it's binary numbers. I've tried and tried. Read about it but it will not compute in my brain.
It's them, not you, chill :)

I like your style, ferlew.

What's to understand about binary numbers? It's either 0 or 1, or a combination, innit?
Quantum theory and related stuff. Mr BM and a close mate of mine regularly have indepth discussions about such things but it flies straight over my pretty little head. Mr BM gets quite animated about this stuff and starts trying to explain them and my eyes glaze over and I start mentally writing the shopping list.
Question Author
My eyes are crossing, BM.

I'm starting to worry now. It's not just gravity - I need to add binary and quantum to my list. :(
I know that HC I'm not that daft. It's working out the numbers they relate to.
How everything (us, trees, insects, emotions, light, maths, sound) comes from the Big Bang.
Algebra
Car mechanics. My brain has glazed over already

Jeza, that's as far my understanding of binary goes - there is a 0 and a 1, and combinations. You mean there is more to it than that? :(

Now, I DO understand the big bang. Two planets collided and the shrapnel melded in to different formations to create everything. If it wasn't that, it was God
I never really got the hang of Pythagoras theorem. Also, I don't understand how a fridge full of beer empties itself (i think we must have aliens or ghosts?)
Question Author
Algebra is easy peasy. Substitute a number for a letter. It's for number blindness, for people who can't distinguish numbers. So use A for 1, B for 2 etc. Sorted

Why plastic packaging is so hard to get into.
Question Author
You are obviously a girly, pixie. Car mechanics requires technical knowledge of big ends, grease nipples and thrusting pistons. Not for the delicate female.
If you drop a slice of toast on the floor why does it always fall buttered side down?
Question Author
I can explain that, too, Zacs.

Plastic packaging is so very hard to get in to so that our sense of delayed gratification is much enhanced

The Offside Rule!
Question Author
Well, sandyRoe, the butter obviously makes the buttered side heavier.
