English Translation Of The Koran
44 Answers
Can anyone recommend a good translation of the Koran? I am interested in all forms of religion and would like to read it (or at least parts of it). I have downloaded 2 different versions onto my Kindle but don't like either of them. The first seems to have been written by someone who is anti-Islam (v strange) so I can't think I'm going to get a balanced view and the second is proving to be unreadable. It is so dominated by footnotes that the text just disappears. I would prefer to read the text only if that is possible.
Any advice appreciated thanks.

By just mentioniung three relations I did not mean to say that there are only three relations in English language. I meant to say that words just stop ther. Perhaps I need to give an example. But my example is in Urdu, the language I speak as I am not sure about different words used for "Uncle" in Arabic. In English you can only call an uncle, "Uncle". In Urdu your mother's brother would be "Mamoo", your Father's brother "Chacha", Your Father's older brother "Taya", Your Mother''s sister's husband, "Khaaloo", your Father's sister's husband, "Phupha". And in English you would sum these all up in one single word "Uncle" but no one would know how he was related to you.
