It is noticed in conversations today that many people are not good listeners, they want to do most of the talking.

When it is time for listening and they persist in talking, they deprive themselves of what may be important instruction.

Yes since the Bible rule is: Have you beheld a man hasty with his words? There is more hope for someone stupid than for him —Prov. 29:20.

There is a certain amount of irony in this post.....
Pot, kettle.....
What were they talking about, GL?
I was just saying the same thing to the two JW's who were here yesterday,"why do you never listen or answer questions?"
As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way
Who decides when there is a time to listen or what constitutes "important instruction"?
I should believe every proverb ?

More wise are those who find the right balance, and neither delay unduly forever looking for certaintly, nor who flit and change with every suggestion with minimal evidence.

In any case discussion is about arguing different viewpoints. One does not expect those participating to not uphold their view, but to test it against those who hold a differing one. Or progress is slow to non-existent.

There certainly is.
Engage brain before putting mouth into gear!
Listening is a great skill which Samaritans are taught. We do not chat, offer opinions or advice but really listen to what the caller says. I've listened to a caller for 20 mins without saying more than the occasional "oh". Callers need the space without interruption.

Do all the clergy of Roman Catholicism and of Protestantism agree that Jehovah’s witnesses have been and are God’s prophet to the nations?

But, Who discerned the divine will for Christians in this time of the world’s end and offered themselves to do it?

Who have undertaken God’s foreordained work of – Mark 13:10 for this day of judgment of the nations? Who have answered the call to the work and have done it down till this day.
Er...deluded people?
... who don't listen?
Guess GL didn't hear me..... :-(
People only engage in conversations because they want to say something, not because they want to hear things they disagree with.
Have you started reading another book yet gl? Do you need a reading list?

True, in December 2010 a 42 old woman in Britain posted a suicide note on a well-know social networking site.

A desperate plea, and yet the woman had more than a thousand social net-work “Friends”

The police found her body a day later. She had taken a fatal overdose.

In today’s society conversation is gradually dying out. Everywhere you go people are texting or using social networks. No matter how many “friends” you have on facebok or twitter etc. Nothing makes up for face-to-face interaction. Even within families conversation is getting to be a thing of the past. Children in one room and parents in the other. Family meals becoming a thing of the past. How can this be good for people?

I often feel this myself - why dont people listen to me...
