Perhaps he was one of them that turned up at my door on a Sunday afternoon in Hong Kong.
The ex and I had had a late night followed by a heavy lunch, so an afternoon nap was in order. She was in the main bedroom and I closed the curtains in the living room. 30 minutes in and knock, knock.
I opened the door to be greeted by four (young) Chinese. "Ah, we Jeehovars witneshhis."
The ex said it was hilarious hearing my rant from the bedroom. An imperious,
"How disgraceful is this. How disgraceful indeed, the very fact that you are out canvassing on God's Sabbath, his day of rest. This is a God-fearing house, a Methodist one, and if you know about that, it's chapel twice in the day, no work, the only book the bible and toys also of a biblical nature. And curtains should be closed as behind me. Now cease immediately and return home to repent and offer your please for Mercy to him."
With this, they turned and scarpered as I closed the door - never another JW visit in the time that we were there, as we probably got some mark to warn fellow canvassers off.
