As part of a Heritage day we looked round a Masonic lodge, on a lectern/desk in the meeting room was an empty teacup, has that any significance? In such a pristine room I cannot imagine one of the 'guides' having just dumped it there.

No. No significance about a teacup.

Was this in England? As a FM myself I can say with complete certainty, 'none whatsoever'. Some lazy sod has dumped it there.
Not to my knowledge, I have had very limited dealing with them on occasions, never heard anything about tea cups!

Weird bunch if you ask me!!
Skulls, yes, teacups no.
Not to mention the rhythmic clapping!
and exposed nipples!!
exposed nipple......in a tea cup ? how odd.
That chequered carpet is difficult to keep clean
I see. Now that we have all but exhausted the attack on other groups, let's have a go at the Masons.
chequered carpet!! the one I used to work in was black and white marble chequer! very posh!!

No. No significance about a teacup.
