As you will know Chakka died recently. Although due to prior commitments, I have had to decline his family’s thoughtful invitation to a party organised in celebration of his life, I have passed on to them the kind condolences and reflections from members of AB which I know they will appreciate. Join me in raising a glass to him. Cheers, Chakka!! x
Since I forwarded all the kind messages of condolence to Chakka's family, I have received a very touching letter from Mrs Chakka, and would like to share this paragraph of that letter with you.
"Thank you for that wonderful tribute to my husband and for taking the trouble to inform his colleagues on the net. It made me weep to think of all those people he had never met and who didn't even know his name saying nice things about him. I passed your letter on to the family."
One of those moments where we weep and smile at the same time. RIP Chakka. x
How awfully sad. He was always perfectly well mannered, even when he so often vehemently disagreed with my Christian views.
My sincere sympathy and condolences to his family, friends, and his many admirers on AB.
I understand that he originated from Anfield in Liverpool, my home town, but I may have misunderstood the clues. Very very sad.
