goodlife - I do wish you would stop these posts. I've read a lot of them and ignored them. All you are doing is stirring up feeling against the quiet believers amongst us, who would not dream of lecturing anyone else about their beliefs, but occasionally post with a valid, religious background. Please desist.

readers will NOT be surprised to read that Gal 6 7 is

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

and the next verse is: For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting

nothing really about Happiness - but what the hell ....

and there is a contrast between the world of the flesh ( us ) and the spiritual world... oo-er I can see vetuste coming - better keep my head down ....

Well true christians see proof all around them that the immoral, debauched living of this world is harmful, deadly.( Galatians 6:7, 8.)
Some might say that 'true Christians' have taught us much in the ways of debauchery.

Nothing like a good sinning for a proper repentance.

God’s moral laws are eternal and unchangeable. For this reason the principle found at Galatians 6:7 applies today. True, an individual may deny accountability to God, but the divine rule remains constant. Ultimately, no human is exempt from the consequences of his actions.

Of course, if people choose to ignore their conscience or foolishly disregard physical laws, they cannot escape bringing trouble upon themselves and likely also upon others.

The unchangeable law of God may go into effect against them: ” Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Gal. 6:7) Since they have turned their backs on the Most High, the only One who could help them, when the full impact of the disaster comes crashing down on them. They are left completely helpless, without hope and comfort.
Usual dreary stuff. Give me a good old fashioned fairy story any day.
one should not mock any myths or legends from whatever culture as that is just rude.
No it doesn't - that's why I don't do it.

Unless you think differently - but there is nothing I can do about that.
Given that there is no God, then there is no God to mock. Basic philosophy 101......tut.
Since there isn't a god, there is nothing to mock.
DT and Hopkirk - I also believe there is no God, but I would not dream of mocking the notion some people hold, that he exists.

Of course, if God did exist, I would suggest he is less than pleased by the arrogant stance taken by 'true Christians' on his behalf, who exhibit nothing of the love and welcome that God is suppose to espouse, but spend their time lecturing, hectoring, preaching, and looking down on the population of the world who are seen universally as beneath them.
No, he doesn't exist. What makes me happy is a visit from one of my children, an evening with friends, birdwatching, reading a good book, an evening at the opera, a walk with my dog on a nice day and snuggling up in my comfortable clean bed at night. And waking up the next morning of course.
If it makes you happy goodlife go ahead, however it is a waste of time to mock a mock god.
Goodlife/idiosyncrasy, why is it so difficult for you to understand that to people who don't believe as you do, bible verses mean absolutely nothing? Posting them is futile. If you have a valid argument to offer, offer it, but don't expect verses from your book to do the work for you. They don't.

I entirely agree with your post - but our responses simply give goodlife and others a chance to shake their heads pityingly, and remind themselves that our stupidity increases their own self-worth - which is why they keep posting.

I don't think their God would appreciate their self-aggrandising ways on here either!
andy-hughes, for as long as Goodlife is allowed to continue to abuse this site he will post regardless of who responds.
More importantly, do the mockers make God angry?
Personally, I think not. He's bigger than that and the goodly unGodly are in for a pleasant surprise eventually.
-- answer removed --
The refusal/inability to answer straightforward questions, the total reliance on scriptural quotes versus reasoned argument… tbh I think you’ve already got the mockery angle covered.
And Naomi is right. These posts are an abuse of AB and should be regarded as spam in the same way as those posts in Russian and those consisting of randomly generated words (the latter being very similar to yours, in fact).
Pied piper - in answer to your post - Do intelligent people actually believe in some sort of god, beggars belief

How intelligent people can believe that the universe is random without structure or creation I find is even more incredible......
Plenty of websites list reasons that point to a creator. This one seems quite good and easy to read and understand. It also mentions some famous former atheists who have changed their minds about existence of God.
