A Joyless Existence?
123 Answers
Given that the posts on here from Christians continually vacillate between admonishing the rest of us for not believing in their god as they do, and fretting and worrying about their worthiness to enter heaven after they die -
Is it not fair to say that being a Christian is a seriously joyless existence?
Does 'God' really intend us to be so utterly bereft of anything approaching happiness on this earth?
And if so - why?

andy hughes; I repeat my post of 16:56 Quoting your OP;
""//Given that the posts on here from Christians continually vacillate between admonishing the rest of us for not believing in their god as they do//
Could you give us a link please? ""
Why can't you do this? This is your question, and you seem not to be able to return to it, are you lying? Perhaps you should ask yourself what is your agenda here.

Crazy idea but maybe he went out/had visitors....
Retro....a lot of insults in that one post! Do you ever wonder why you get suspended?
It has been said many many times, including by the Ed, that mods can't just remove posts because the don't like them or don't agree with them....if that were the case they wouldn't be mods for very long.

Yes .A load of insults indeed. But the poster has many times been accused of using those against others. Being an atheist does not exonerate same for their opprobium against others who do have a belief. I do not start a post with my put downs on another persons belief. If you believe that a moderator who starts a post cannot remove answers on their post if they do not like what they hear then I believe you are incorrect also.
I recall Boo,a moderator, this weekend threatening jj she would be suspended if she carried on a spat with you as it happens. Contrary to popular belief, then,it would seem a mod can remove and suspend.

If I may interrupt, of course a moderator can remove posts but they must give a valid reason, that is the point Ummmm is making.
If the simply say 'I don't like this/It hurts my feelings' for example that is not a valid reason and their position as a moderator would be compromised.
Check that with the Editor but I believe it to be the case.

retrocop - // note he hasn't gone too far to have a post of mine removed whereby I copy and paste his words from another different thread which was one of his own posts that I quoted. His words but when they come back to bite him they are removed.?? //
You appear to be using the assumption that I am (mis)using my powers as a moderator to censor responses to my OP with which I don't agree.
As you have been advised more than once, Moderators have to provide a reason why they have removed a post, and if the Editorial Team do not agree, the post can be returned to the thread.
But again, you are assuming that I have removed your post because it disagrees with me - I haven't.
Just to be clear - I haven't removed your post because you disagreed with me - I haven't removed your post, period.
I will get back to all the other points raised to me, in due course - let no-one assume that I 'disappeared' because I found the going tough - if you don't know any better than that ...

goodlife - //Are you forgetting almost every conceivable thing known to man has, at one time or another, been worshiped as a god or a goddess. //
An interesting point.
I wonder therefore why modern Man worships an unseen deity, when his ancestors worshipped the sun - with a degree more validity, since the sun produces effects on the earth which are there for all to see.

retrocop - //If that is to be believed then I apologise . //
Thank you - accepted with appreciation.
You seem to have developed a perception of me as a manipulative and somewhat devious person - I assure you, I am neither, but thank you for your response.
will get back to the other points you and other have made in due course - I was 'off air' most of yesterday and all last night.

I really think the Ed should have a word on this subject....
Andy does NOT remove posts that disagree with him.
Andy does NOT report posts that disagree with him.
Andy does NOT suspend people that disagree with him.
Andy does NOT.......and so on and on...
Then debates can continue without a few blaming Andy for everything and derailing threads.
