Do Christians And Muslims Worship The Same God.
186 Answers
Hi There I saw a post on facebook that said Muslims and Christians do not worship the same God. And I copied it on to my wall. Anyway one of my really pc friends said that is not true and it is hate crime to say that and if it is not removed she will phone the police. But surely that is true. Muslims worship Allah where as Christians worship God?

and I dont know if it is a hate crime
god in both religions has the same attributes ( if you think about it he has to ) perfect, unchangeable because he is perfect, endless, everywhere,
have I done eternal ? all knowing
Go thro the 99 names of god - he is all those as well as part of the job spec

I can not see what you have put on your wall but I can't see how it can be a hate or a love crime for that matter.
Since both religions have the same roots I'm unsure how anyone can claim that they worship different gods. Muslims merely believe that they have further information/insight that Christians reject.

Christianity and Islam are both born out of Judaism and they basically share the same texts up until Abraham. Beyond that they also recognise common prophets, with Jesus viewed as a prophet of God by both Jews and Muslims but as his son by Christians.
So, for example, because all three religions recognise Jesus as proclaiming the word of God, they must therefore be working from a common view of who or what 'God' is, irrespective of what name they attribute to him.
Given, though, that 'God' is a totally mythical figure anyway, there is obviously scope for some variation in how people see him!

Muslims consider Jesus to have been a prophet, but the Jews don't. To them he was simply a false messiah.
Yes, Christians, Muslims, and Jews do worship the same God. He has many names, including Jehovah, Elohim, and Yahweh. I don't think what you've done is a hate crime.

hc - please confirm that the trindy - or trinitias or whatever the Gk is,
does NOT occur in the NT
and that therefore as a matter of logic it should be possible to do without it ( and believe the rest )
BC saying the religion of peace ( erm Islam that is ) is based on a jewish belief system - showing a christmassy sense of humour isnt one ?
I wonder how that will go down in ..... paris
