Mushroom - You haven't posted anything that people here have not heard or talked about before. If only Muslims understood what you seem to understand or the way you are trying to understand from those verses then every Muslim should be out killing every unbeliever in every single street where they see each other. However fortunately Muslims do believe and know the "context" of those verses.

Well I think this has all been rather disappointing. I was looking forward to the discussion between them.

Deafening silence or my reply, nothing will serve any purpose as people will keep on believing what they want to believe. All of the verses there are of a time when a few hundred were in battle situation against 3, 4 or perhaps 5 times more in numbers. But to be honest one just needs to go and read himself one verse before and one after and that is not a rocket science. But looking at the verses Mushroom has posted. Even these verses are not complete let alone reading one before and after. Perhaps mentality issue.

I can see why there is some confusion over the exact meanings of koranic texts amongst muslims. After all mohammed was illiterate.

Yes, Muhammad (pbuh) was illiterate but still he managed to give a book that has had no versions, no alterations, nothing added and nothing taken away for over 1400 years and 1.6 billion people still believe in it. Had he been literate then people would say he copied it from whatever else he read, Amazing isn’t it. Can you give any other example that fits the above?
