This sounds like. mr Smow bashing week but it's not honestly!
Ok he asked what I wanted for Xmas and I saw several tops that I liked the look of online so I took screenshots and sent them to him (as he'd asked).unfortunately I'd never used this website before and unbeknown to me when the stuff arrived one item looked so bad he didn't even bother wrapping it but he thought the rest was ok. Well when I opened them it became clear they weren't ok. One top was at least 4 sizes too big, a dress he had decided to buy was at least 4 sizes too small, and the other top was just really badly made. He could clearly see the problems even though I said it was fine. He then(withought me knowing) went online to a different place and bought me two dresses to make up for it. They arrived yesterday. They are beyond vile. I look like a hooker! And there is no way I will ever ever wear them. But how can I say that after he's tried to made a bad situation good??

I think honesty is the best policy here.

Just say that they are not really a style you like, and is he OK with you changing them - that would be fine with me in that situation.

oh dear.......Do you think he chose them because he genuinely has no idea or because he would like to see you wearing them? I mean would it help to try them on for him and say “honestly what do you think”

Fabulous....perhaps he bought them with sex in mind....that's how he imagines you and that's what turns him on.
Bite the bullet....say they are fabulous and wear them on those "special occasions"

The Xmas clothes site was called SHEIN. Absolutely awful stuff. Trouble is I know he will get the hump if I'm honest - I would never ever ask him to buy me a dress so not sure why he decided to do that. I've tried them on and I look absolutely ridiculous.

Maybe his is dropping hints that your normal clothes are a bit 'mumsie'? I've looked at the site, no its not exactly Hobbs but to be honest you get what you pay for. Its an American/Chinese site so will cost a fortunte to return clothes. The last time my other half bought me clothes for xmas I got a set of 'lingerie' and a hideous coloured velvet dress that left nothing to the imagination. We had a bit of fun with them then they went in the bin! lighten up! Then next year don't allow him to buy you clothes!

Lol my clothes are the totally opposite of mumsy- when I go to my daughters she nicks half my stuff! I mean they're soooo low cut at the front you can almost see what I've had for breakfast for a start - and I'm a 36G! They'd be more apt to someone swinging round a pole!
