Every year we have this debate cadbuys roses or quality street? Now its also celebrations and mini heroes ?I also buy chocolate orange as my husband hates those so i have them all to myself and ferrero as we all love those. We always buy too much and end up eating it till easter, and then you have easter and all the eggs etc etc. What do you choose?

Never Quality Street, the toffee coins always take a filling out when I eat them!

I always have to have a box of After 8s and Ferroro Rocher. Not too bothered about the traditional 'tin' but if I did it would be Celebrations because I love Galaxy choc.

I always buy After Eight mints for my dinner table at Christmas as my hubby , kids and I love them. I am guilty of buying far too much which of course we never eat but I am only following in the long running tradition set by my family. I prefer Roses but would happily gobble quality streets too because I just love choccy so much ! I too love Ferrero but why did they stop making the ones with the liquid mint centre ? They were to die for. Mmmm. I fell out with Mr Cadbury when he stopped including my favourite cremes for a while. I mean to say , without the cremes , what's the point ?

Bit off the wall, but my Gran always buys me a box of Marzipan Fruits and they are always the first to get scoffed.
..I always get a box of Bendicks ...mmmm... a giant toblerone...and some Thorntons continental...
just buy one of each but in the smaller boxes, (you can alway 'top-up' as you go along) and throw them all together in a bog bowl -then everyone gets the choice

Arrrrggghhh....meant BIG bowl - not BOG bowl!! -

Blinkin' typos! ...Ha ha!

I REPEAT - Do NOT put the chocs in the BOG BOWL!! LOL ;oD

GOD! I wish you were my Mum Rachael!!!!

We are always "on diets" so my Mum thinks, and therefore she never buys ANY chocolate at Xmas or Easter. She even tells us how many calories are in each mince pie. It REALLY spoils it. Xmas is not an indulgent time for me. If anything, I eat LESS at my parents house than I do at mine!!

Real chocolates from a real chocolate shop.

Ha Ha!! Sorry Joko, but I just can't get the picture out of my head of everyone sitting around Rachael's BOG Bowl dipping into the christmas chocs.

(and where do you suppose they will be eating dinner?)

Oooooooooh, Roses for me, much nicer than Quality Street, I also love Terrys Chocolate Oranges (it's not Terrys, it's MINE), and Christmas is not complete without a box of After Eights, though there's nothing worse than finding just empty envelopes in the box!

angie26 - I know where the chocs and dinner will both end up...in another typo - a big bowel.... ;o)

I dunno, toilet humour 'eh? What's this site coming too?...chortle!

We always have a chocolate orange, a box of after eights, a box of Thorntons continental (wouldn't be christmas in our house without those three!) and then either Roses or Quality Street although personally I prefer Roses.

he he thanks joko what a fab idea... about miving all the chocs together i mean and not eating them from the er bog bowl. ha ha you did make me laugh.

Scarlett you poor thing. If i were you i would do what you do eat as much in your own house but say your being good at your mums.

Spudqueen i totally agree, nothing worse then empty after 8 envelopes put back in the box, however i have done this before to my son and said go on eat as many as you like knowing full well it was envelopes in the box and no chocs. he he

I am with Gef on this one. If you live in Hampshire, go to Beaulieu, to the choccy shop there. Their strawberry orange and lemon creams are the best and come in a choice of milk white or dark chocolate. My personal fave is the walnut cream. The chocs are actually made at the shop. Other than that, chocolate dipped cherries from M and S or waitrose.Got to stop now and wipe the drool off the keyboard.
spudqueens right empty envelopes turn your best day to your worst he he make sure theres lots of choccies in your house racheal : )
I wouldn't touch them with a barge-pole. And, in particular, I would not buy them for children. They all contain hydrogenated fats. Certainly sweets to die for.
Simple, three for two at woollies, roses, mingles and heroes, plenty for the festive season, but all gone by twelvth night!
