Is there anybody left on here who seriously considers Islam to be what it claims to be?
A religion of peace?
And if so, why?

So the first crusade at the end of the 11th century was more a case of football coming home than an unprovoked act of aggression, which is the way it's usually presented.

Meanwhile, Macron wants French to be the EU and the world's first language - well good luck with that Emmanuel! In fact, in 20 years time, he'll be lucky if the first language of his own country isn't Arabic.

All of the big organised religions have tried to claim they are all about peace.
Unfortunately, history shows they are all divisive, self serving and dangerous. Christianity has blood on its hand in Africa and South America. The Hindus in India and the Buddists are not averse to a bit of massacring to promote their cause. Even the Jews commit atrovities on the palestinians. And yes, Islam fight its holy wars and turns a blind eye to terrorism.
They are all the same, because it is about power and influence. The Islamists are no worse nor no better than the rest.

// in NI, I never heard anyone ask a similar question about Christianity.//
as a good roman cartlic - crawling around wivva rosary I was often interrupted in my decade of the Rosary murmuring and asked why I supported the IRA.
and why Hume hadnt condemned the IRA ( he did on a weekly basis ) It used to drive me crazy

Aye it be! ( that is southern for - yeah baby! )
did I read Crusaders were cartlic and not christian ?
erm they were both actually
and why is every cross interpreted as Christian?
erm probably because it was adopted by Constantine who saw one in the sky at the battle of Milvian Bridge 298 or thereabouts.

While Islamic terrorism is a real threat, the total numbers killed are relatively small.
Certainly when compared to a Christian country (USA) led be three christian Presidents waging wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and interfereing in many countries in the middle east resulting in many hundreds of thousands killed.
Or the wars in Gaza killing tens of thousands.
Or the thousands recently killed by Buddhist Myanmar.
Or the deaths by Hindus during the division of India.
Or the Catholic church in Germany accomodating the nazis.
