What Is Your Problem?
42 Answers
I was asked by Theland (before he went off in a hissy fit) what was my problem. (presumably with Christianity)
I don't have a problem despite what Theland may LIKE to think.
So Just so I don't highjack Canarys post, I will let you vent here Theland.
And in return I will ask just what is YOUR problem with people disagreeing with you and presenting facts that may disagree with you?
My rejection of Christianity is much the same as your rejection of Islam, Hinduism, Sihkism, Buddhism or any other religion. I don't understand your antagonism towards someone who rejects yet another belief system.
You don't believe in Osiris, Thor, Odin, Krishna, Allha, Hecate, Astarte, Baal, or millions of other divine beings and yet you are antagonistic towards my rejection of YOUR God?

As I see it, if you undertake to be a Christian, you also undertake to 'spread the Word' and that means soaking up any and all hostility and antagonism, usually with the patience reserved for dealing with eight-year-olds with personality disorders, which is the way Theland likes to deal with people like me.
I don't target him, he regularly and consistently targets himself with his endless posted video nonsense and his earnest pleading to be understood.

Mamya - // Andy, to use Theland as a blueprint for how you see all Christians is misguided in my view - I (for example) am not much like him at all. //
To be fair to all Christians, I do not view Theland as typical, indeed the majority of Christians I mix with - and I attend Mass weekly, are thoroughly nice people, and we have no conflict at all.
On here though, people like Theland come and go, acting in the way he does, and I and others engage with them.
But that does not mean that I despise all Christians, far from it, but I do despise those who exhibit the superior attitudes and condescending rhetoric that insults me as an intelligent person with my own views on the subject.

And is in equal measure questioned about it.
Unfortunetly he takes umbrage (as do others) at been questioned about it.
I was about town today when a few street preachers were out spreading the word. I only wished to buy a few toilet rolls and a loaf. Instead I was told about the horrers of hell that awaited me for not believing in jesus.
How on earth can I make myself beleive in a being that I find non existant?

Fine - if you don't want your posts to be mis-read by people other than the one to whom you are addressing your response, why not use quotes like I do - no room for misinterpretation there, by anyone.
