Theland,
You have often been accused of NOT answering questions put to you. Equally you have responded that you HAVE, either directly or by a link, (usually a youtube link).

Given your recent posts on other threads re genders: I would like to give you the chance to clear up any misunderstandings regarding your views on homosexuality without any animosity from other ABers. (Other ABers take note, this is for Theland only...its not an attack on him or his beliefs)

There are 2 genders? Its Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve right?
The Old Testament orders the death of homosexuals. St Paul in the New Testament says that homosexuals are worthy of death. Revelations says that homosexuals will burn for eternity.
You have an homosexual child...how does this sit with your beliefs as an evangelical Christian?

Take this question as you will but I ask it out of genuine curiosity given your (published) beliefs about gender.
Thanks.

//Why the animosity towards someone who is basically asking the same as me?//

Because they've already had verbal fisticuffs in the Islamophobia thread.

I would be interested to see the answer to you question. Love concurs all maybe, but when you're selective about who you give that love to, it negates that ideal.

If your love appears to be only given to white-skinned Christian Westerners, then I'd have to agree, that is no kind of real love at all.
I talked to a guy at the Christian union at my college and he told me that in biblical times there was no concept of human sexuality e.g. romantic relationships between people of the same sex as we understand them now and that where the bible refers to homosexuality it generally means men raping boys. He also explained to me that Jesus was the first transgender activist and showed me some verses that back this up.

Interesting - would be good to know what Theland thinks about what you have said, but from experience - don't hold your breath!!
Which verses, Tim?
I don't know them all will have to find them out. He said ancient Israel recognised 6 genders. One verse I think was: Matthew 19:12 "For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others-and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."

Ok... eunuchs are a different gender now? Or a different sex? I suspect somebody was trying to mislead you x
Question Author
Ive asked this question of Theland because I see it so many times, again and again, that believers will pick and choose what to believe from their chosen sacred texts.

Ive no desire to single Theland out (before anyone posits that), but religionists are sometimes their own worst enemy. Theland laments the fact that there are dozens of genders while at the same time seeks to defend his own homosexual son (As would I ) But you cant have it always. The Bible is anti anything except male/female.
Anything other than heterosexuals are not welcome in the kingdom of heaven.

Apparently he said in the original Hebrew translation of Genesis there is another layer to the text relating to gender. God and the angels are all described as gender neutral. Also there are a number of medieval paintings of Jesus which depict him as a hermaphrodite with women's breasts.
GLT, a quick google says you’re wrong :(
I'm sure that is true, Tim..
But only two biological sexes, as you know. Confusion reigns :-) x
Hermaphrodites are not mammals, either.
Just telling you what someone told me I'm not a bible expert. I would like to think that Jesus supported people of different sexualities and genders. I've seen Theland calling Transgender people 'Animals' and 'Freaks' on answerbank before. Surely we should look at everyone as being valuable.
Maybe Christianity is a broader church than you give it credit for Nailit. You're not socialising with a large enough variety.
Everyone is equally valuable, imo (except certain criminals perhaps)... but that is nothing to do with gender, sex or sexuality. Or even science.
The main problems with ancient tomes like religious texts is that people interpret them using modern ideals. Some of those passages had completely different meanings 2000 years ago compared to how they are interpreted now.
I would like to know where the line is between 'love conquers all' and someone being 'a freak'
I have to laugh at Andy, who sets himself up as an expert on Christianity in order to judge me.

Do you think I get Brownie points for trying to defend myself when he and others try to provoke me?

Not a chance!

Enjoy yourselves calling me stiff.
-- answer removed --
Some of you posters are so amusing, and so predictable I could write them myself.
It's like an itch that you have to scratch.

Oh yes, Andy, you are very very very clever and intellectually superior.
There. Happy now?
