Stephen Hawking said that as long as there was a law of gravity, the universe can and will create itself.
That is poor philosophy.
Laws describe the interaction between entities, but are nothing in themselves.
Gravity describes the bending of space caused by the presence of mass.
Hawking, like other New Atheists, cling to their materialistic worldview, that dictates that the universe contains within it, the means for it own creation.
Al Khalili does not conclude his lecture with a plausible beginning, but assumes a vacuum full of Zero Point Energy, (ZPE), that lends itself to the brief formation of virtual particles and anti particles that go on to annhialate themselves.
But that would conclude of space and energy being past eternal, and we know that the universe had a beginning 13.7 billion years ago, when space itself was created, along with energy, so he is far from accurate in his assumptions.
There is nothing in his lectures to nullify the truth of the creation account in the Bible.
