Why would a creationist read The God Delusion?

Anyway, Ive set myself a goal (always lived my life by goal setting, it focus's the mind) to read the entire Bible...Genesis to Revelation...in 3 months!
Ive read the entire Bible before, but forgot much of it, and after a few conversations at work (with Evangelicals) Ive decided to read the lot again. After 14 days I am currently at the first few chapters of Deuteronomy. Have struggled (but persevered) through meaningless chapter after after chapter of animal sacrifices in Numbers to meaningless chapter after chapter of ridiculous laws in Leviticus, with endless repetitions of genealogies and the endless repetition of killing animals because it is a *Pleasing aroma before the Lord*

I can quiet understand why Bible believers have never read the Bible.
Its Boring.
Its sick
Its Immoral
Its irrelevant

But I'll read it!
Can Bible believers understand why I will?
(for the next couple of months at least)
;-)

That is quite silly and you know it.
Theland, rather than condemn it you justify it. You can have it both ways.

So far in my reading, God has drowned men, women, children, babies and animals, buried people alive, burnt people alive, sent poisenous snakes to kill people, ordered that men, women, children and animals be put to the sword, ordered that people be stoned to death, sends plagues to kill people etc
And Im only a few books into the Bible so far!!
You might be made in God's image Theland but I certainly arn't.
Does God have an image? Wasn't he an eternal spirit a minute ago?
I love the fact that on my page for this thread, their is a ad for a free Messianic Bible.

"Are you a Hellbound atheist like Nailit? You can read the Bible too with our free Messianic Bible."

:oD
I keep decking up on the right for of "there/their". Blooming fool.

Not only does he have an image, in many parts of the Old Testament he has a body...
Ah. Great :-). Did quite well then...

I'll stick to my N.I.V thanks :-)
I thought "He" looked like Alanis Morrisette?
My last post should read 'You can't have it both ways'.
The accusations / allegations are thrown around like a muck spreader.
Call this a discussion?

What accusations?

Nah, I've resorted to quipping.
Theland, what accusations/allegations?

Someone accused Nailit of talking sense? ;-)
Theland, when people challenge you, rather than engage honestly you resort to the shield of feigned offence - and then complain there's no discussion. Par for the course.
You can't accuse a ficticious book of anything Theland. And allegations can be rebuked by someone who really cares about the topic.

Come on fella, it's your time to shine.
One explanation might be that God told them just to go and rough up the neighbours a bit for their own good but Joshuas armies took it too far. God is pure and man is a wrong un, right where we need to be.
Throwing out the accusations and criticisms towards the bible takes only a sentence or two.
Refuting them with any accuracy would take pages and am sure you'll appreciate that is not possible.
