//Since simple things require a maker, is it not logical that complex things require an even more intelligent maker ? // Then what made the god? The answers provided by the religious to this question are not actually answers. Clearly God must be the most complex and intelligent thing possible since something complex always requires something more complex...

Yes, to us now it seems that way, much the same as thunder etc. seemed mighty powerful to humans once. At some stage in the future, humans will understand what started the universe and won't need to believe a god started it. Though, that god, like others now, may well appear in crosswords if they are still going then.
We don't know, Theland, and if you need to allocate a god to it, by all means do so. As I said, humans have done that for things they don't understand throughout history. Fewer do it now as I suspect they know that things that once seemed inexplicable to humans, and were allocated a god, were later explained.

You cannot say that with any certainty - new species are discovered all the time.
In the same way that no-one can say with any certainty that Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world over 100 metres - there may be any number of faster men anywhere in the world, but they don't compete publicly.

Theland - // Whatever caused the universe to exist must have been mighty powerful.
Intelligent, immaterial, having within itself its own cause and reason to exist. //
No-one can say that the universe 'came into being' - it may have always been here.
As for 'intelligence' - you are fond of adding that in because you believe it strengthens your argument about God.
Without proof of the involvement of intelligence, simply wanting it to be so doesn't cut it.
It's your belief, but it is no more or less valid than the beliefs that stars are gods, or trees, or anything.
It's just perception that differs.
